This is a continuation from my last post, with a happier ending. https://youcandothis.blog/2020/01/29/i-cant-drink-coffee-anymore-probs-not-gonna-make-it/
I went and saw my doctor recently. She informed me that I wasn’t going to die, which was good news overall. She also informed me that she strongly believes I have adrenal fatigue from the constant state of stress my body has been under for the past 4 years. I concur wholeheartedly.
Because it’s not a proven disease at this point, adrenal fatigue is one of those diagnosis’ that the medical community as a whole does not recognize. However, because my MD is awesome and endorses naturopaths, osteopaths, and other types of health care practitioners, she thinks outside of the box in which western medicine resides.
So what does this mean? It means I need a lot of recovery time. Also, my blood pressure is normally low, but is now exacerbated by this disease. I’m sitting at about 80/60, so lots of fluids all the time. This really helps me get more sleep as I’m up to pee about 5 times a night….
But I digress. Onto the vitamins.
I was taking a fair bit of supplements to help me on my day to day journey of getting all the chores/activities accomplished because of the “oh my goodness I just want to sleep” problem.
Nothing super weird, just your general vitamins, omegas, turmeric, that sort of thing. No frog legs or snake liver or anything of that nature.
Slowly I started to notice something. I would wake up feeling ok, take my 8ish pills, and within half an hour I would feel horrible. I would become so nauseated and tired and dizzy. I left church last week and went and laid down in the car because I knew if I stayed in the pew bad things were going to happen. We live in Canada. It’s minus 30 out there. No one goes and sits in their car for fun.
While sitting in my ice cube of a vehicle I started researching on my phone, and found out that other people have the same reactions to vitamins. Turns out us special snowflakes can’t handle it. They take all of our limited energy to process and our bodies revolt and try to shut down.
Well that was the end of my healthy vitamin journey. I quit them all immediately.
And it helped! I haven’t taken any for a week and I feel so much better! It took a couple days for the light headedness and weakness to completely leave, but today I actually was able to do a bit of cardio and some yoga! It felt so good.
Stupid vitamins are so overrated.
Has anyone else found this happens to them?
Also, my doctor offered my Zoloft for my anxiety. More on that in the next post.
